At English Homestay Academy we can offer you an individual course catering for your specific needs. Through the ‘total immersion’ of conversation practice and intensive English lessons you will quickly see progress and achievement.

All our courses use a balance of grammar, vocabulary and functional English for all situations. We use a wide range of materials to help you develop and improve your language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Every student will have an individually designed programme which targets their strengths and weaknesses, therefore each course will be different. We will also plan an activity based programme to suit your individual interests and needs.

General English Course

English Lessons The aims and objectives are to improve;

Listening skills
Speaking skills

Pronunciation

Through the use of a variety of activities your individual course of study will be developed in order to successfully achieve rapid progress and fluency in English, which you can apply to a variety of social situations during your stay.

Junior and Young Adult Courses

We offer a course that takes place both inside and outside the classroom. We are trained specifically to educate children and young adults and understand their special requirements. Children and young adults are always welcome with or without their families. We offer a course which ensures activities are always engaging and fun, while at the same time developing essential English language skills.

We welcome information from parents or schools in order to cater for the individual needs of the student.
Families can also come with their young learners and some or all members may have English lessons as well as a good holiday.

Exam Courses/ English for Academic Purposes

We offer intensive courses for exam preparation. These courses are designed to give you the extra help you need to prepare and pass the following exams:

IELTS. Academic IELTS is an internationally recognised qualification necessary for UK University entrance in the UK and most English speaking countries. At English Homestay Academy we can offer you support in achieving the level necessary for entry to an A Level course of your choice, or a University Foundation course (usually an IELTS score of 5.5). You may also require entry to an English University degree courses (usually IELTS score of 6.5-7.5). We can provide formal IELTS training to ensure you are well prepared. Other exam courses include:
FCE First Certificate in English
CAE Cambridge Advanced English
CPE Cambridge Proficiency English
TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language
TOEIC Test of English in Communication

Your specific needs will be identified and specialist exam material and past paper practice will help prepare you for your exam or Baccalaureate course.

Business and Professional Courses

In a global economy English is the international language of commerce and communication. We aim to provide a course appropriate to your individual or corporate needs or you may wish to do a combination of General English and Business English. This course gives you the necessary skills for effective oral and written communication in English in any professional situation.

The aims and objectives are to;

Improve presentational skills
Enable effective telephone call handling
Improve social interaction and conversation
Improve communication in international meetings
Give effective language for negotiations
Improve electronic communication via emails and business letters

Small Group English Courses

If you would like to come with friends, relatives or colleagues of a similar level we offer 2:1 or small group courses. You can choose your own course and you will each receive a personalised learning programme. This can be a very enjoyable and more rewarding way to learn at a competitive price, while still receiving individual attention.
Studying in a small group is less daunting and more relaxed than being in a class of 15 or 20 in a big language school. You can be yourself and know that the teacher is there for you when needed. You will ma Student group ke quicker progress and gain in confidence.

Some small groups can be quite international with students from different countries all enjoying their learning together in a small group. Many lasting friendships can be made this way. It is possible to mix your learning and have small group lessons in the morning and 1:1 lessons in the afternoon for a really intensive course.

Family Holiday Homestay

At Homestay English Academy we offer family holidays for up to 5 people. You will have your own private accommodation with en-suite bathrooms. Many families have stayed with us for an exceptional holiday experience in a beautiful part of England. You may decide not to have formal English language lessons but simply to holiday in this wonderful Jurassic area. You will of course have the opportunity to practice English conversation skills while you are here. We can also help plan an activities programme for you so you can make the most of your time here.
